About the Lakers Air Jordan 3 Customs: Lakers Air Jordan 3.. This isn’t an original colorway, nor is it an original custom. We weren't the first and won’t be the last to make these. Kobe Bryant was not only an NBA legend, but also an inspiration to millions of basketball fans and players. When he passed away there was a flood of tribute custom sneakers on Instagram for weeks. We considered making our own, but it didn’t feel right (no hate to anyone that did, they were all great) and then the idea faded away as the ‘Rona hit and world moved on. Then one day a client reached out to us with the hopes of commissioning a pair of Lakers Jordan 3s for his nephew to play basketball in.. We accepted the job without a second thought. It was the perfect opportunity for us to cope by making our own Kobe-themed shoe. Our client wanted to use the “Pure White” Air Jordan 3 as the base shoe and requested that we make it look as similar to the famous Kobe Bryant Jordan 3 player exclusives as possible. We started by painting the tongues’ sock liner and Jumpman logos yellow. Once that was done we sanded and prepped the mid soles before mixing a custom purple and airbrushing them. After that, we traced the elephant print with a mixture of dark grey and black, then filled in the rest of it with light grey. Finally, we finished them off by painting the eyelets yellow and purple. This was a simple, but therapeutic custom to make and we were extremely thankful for the opportunity.
We only work with authentic base shoes because fakes are lower quality. If you try to supply a fake shoe we will decline the project.
Customs done on used shoes do not last as long due to the wear and tear that they’ve gone through prior to being customized. If you would like us to customize a pair of lightly-worn shoes you will need pre-approval from us.
Our average turnaround time is 2-6 weeks, but this varies project to project and is based on design complexity, workload, and more. Custom jobs are completed in the order that they are received unless a rush fee is paid.
All of our custom work is durable and can be worn though we advise against putting your custom shoes through a lot of stress or constantly wearing them for sports. The more harsh the conditions you wear them in, the more likely they are to receive damage just like any other pair of shoes.
