// As an artist, I love when clients present unique and original ideas // Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy painting Jordan Brand inspired colorways and hyped designs, but nothing beats creative freedom and a design that stands out from the crowd // For this project, the client wanted color blocking similar to the Jackboys Air Max 90/1 that I did earlier in the year, but with colors taken from a 2019 Ripndip X Teddy Fresh apparel collaboration // He sent me a camo hoodie from the release as an example and also wanted the two brands’ cat and bear mascots on the shoes flipping the viewer off as well //

// I used the same white and gold Nike Air Max 90/1 base that I used for the Jackboys pair and had to mix three custom colors to match the aforementioned hoodie // The custom job itself was pretty straight forward // Once the shoes were prepped and colors were mixed, I painted the mudguard, heel, and ankle areas in a turquoise blue and followed that up by adding some hot pink accents // Finally, I placed a cat and a bear on each toe and heel in a dark blue // They were oriented in the same way that they appeared in the collaboration pieces // Browse our selection of stencils for all your custom sneaker projects //
